Winn-Dixie’s Prestidge ice cream Raspberry Cone Crunch recently won a top honor in the Private Label Marketing Association’s Salute to Excellence Awards.

PLMA gave the ice cream the award in its ice cream and frozen novelties category. Own Brands Creative Design Manager Brenna Knotts accepted the award on behalf of Winn-Dixie and Daymon Worldwide.

“The business unit has worked diligently on improving and reformulating Prestige ice cream over the last year and the redesigned premium looking packaging symbolizes this great product and we are thrilled to receive this award,” said Renee Parchert, Own Brands business manager.

“The rich tones and dramatic lighting provide a premium environment that showcases the product. The photography of the product is bold and appetizing and the suggestive 'scoop' highlights the rich and creamy texture of the ice cream that nestles the premium quality inclusions,” added Brenna Knotts, creative manager at Winn-Dixie.

The PLMA Salute to Excellence Awards are given to outstanding store brands products from competing retailers throughout the country. The competition of the awards is aggressive, and more than 500 products were submitted for consideration in 2013. Products must have been introduced into the marketplace within the previous 12 months. PLMA judges reviewed the submissions for taste, performance, packaging, presentation, and value for price, and announced winners in 34 food and beverage categories and in 16 home and health categories.
